About this guide
Published and operated by AI Work Notes.
AI Work Notes is an independent informational guide to freelance AI work. It is not Outlier, an employment agency, or an official Outlier recruiter. Outlier controls its own applications, screening, projects, payments and referral program.
Referral relationship
The button labelled “Explore Outlier via referral” contains a contributor’s referral link. The referring contributor may receive a reward if a new applicant joins through that link and the program’s requirements are met. We do not promise a signup bonus, cashback, acceptance, work availability or earnings.
Information on this page
This page does not ask for your name, email address, résumé, ID or payment information. Checklist selections remain in the current page, are not stored, and reset when you reload. The sample explanation is a locally displayed illustration.
Hosting and country-based display
Cloudflare hosts this site and estimates the country of a request from its IP address. We use that estimate to select the measurement notice and applicable measurement settings before serving a page. The page receives only a Philippines/other result and the applicable measurement setting, not your raw IP address. Country estimates may be inaccurate. Cloudflare may process standard connection information to serve and secure the site. The page loads fonts from Google Fonts; this sends a request to Google, including standard browser connection information.
Advertising measurement and your choices
With your permission, Google Tag Manager loads Google advertising measurement tags and Meta Pixel for Facebook and Instagram advertising measurement. These can send Google and Meta information about page visits and referral-link clicks, the page URL and referring page, advertising click and cookie identifiers, and standard connection information such as your IP address and browser details. Cookies help attribute these actions to our ads. We do not send your checklist answers, application information, names or email addresses through these tags. Google Analytics is not installed.
Meta Pixel sends two events: PageView when a page is viewed and Lead when you click “Explore Outlier”. The Lead event includes the labels “Outlier referral click” and “referral”. Here, Lead only means a referral-link click. It does not mean you applied, qualified, completed work or earned a reward. Google also measures the referral click as a secondary action, not a completed application.
Advertising personalization is disabled in our Google consent settings. Meta's automatic event configuration, advanced matching and Conversions API integration are not enabled in our tags. Google and Meta handle information they receive under their own privacy policies.
For visits identified as being outside the Philippines, or when the country cannot be determined, we ask before loading advertising tags. For visits identified as being from the Philippines, we show an explanation within the page instead of automatically opening a consent panel. Google advertising measurement still requires your permission.
When an assessed Meta advertising campaign is enabled, we may use legitimate interests to measure visits from that campaign and clicks on our referral link in the Philippines. This is limited to the landing page, the configured advertising period and the campaign's tagged Meta links. The purpose is to assess advertising effectiveness; we do not measure completed applications or work. We do not use this basis for our own retargeting or lookalike audience creation. Outside that scope, Meta measurement requires permission. When measurement is active, a notice on the page provides details and a stop control. Measurement settings remain available in the footer.
Meta may associate events with its users and use them to personalise content and advertising on and off Meta products. Under its Business Tools Terms, Meta may retain event data for up to two years. Disabling advanced matching and Conversions API does not make the Pixel anonymous. See Meta's Business Tools Terms for its processing and retention terms.
You can object to our advertising measurement at any time using “Stop measurement” in the page notice or . A previous decline remains effective, including when the country or measurement basis changes. We retain a decline until you change that choice or clear browser storage; permission expires after 180 days. We respect a Global Privacy Control signal by stopping advertising measurement. With blocked browser storage, automatic legitimate-interest measurement is disabled.
Stopping measurement reloads the page to unload the tags and clears measurement cookies that the page can remove. If your browser cannot save the stop choice, this page retains it in a URL fragment for the reload; it may not persist on later visits. Withdrawal or objection does not delete information already sent to Google or Meta. You can also clear this site's cookies in your browser settings.
For more information, see how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Meta's Privacy Policy.
